Cardiac Heroes
Oliver Ruth, five years old, had a massive stroke in 2019 after acquiring influenza B, which caused inflammation in his MCA and artery constriction. In February, Oliver and his family visited GKTW, where he enjoyed eating ice cream for breakfast, attending parties, and swimming in the pool. "GKTW made Oliver feel like a celebrity for a week," Amanda explains. Following the detection of a tumor in his cerebellum, Oliver is still receiving therapy. Please remember Oliver and other cardiac heroes as we commemorate Pediatric Stroke Awareness Month.
