Riley's desire was granted at GKTW in June 2019, a year after she began intense chemotherapy for pre-B cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. "It was a week we'll never forget," Robin, the wish mom, recalls. "Without our emphasis on Riley's upcoming treatment or hospital stay, Riley and her younger brothers were able to have fun." It allowed us to spend quality time with one other and make memories as a family. After Riley finished treatment in June 2020, we returned to the Village for an alumni visit. We laughed, we wept, and we reflected on Riley's progress. We will be eternally thankful to the Village and all of the volunteers who work diligently to assist children with severe illnesses focus on having fun and being happy."
